I had such high hopes for this stroller. I bought a Dash because I live in the city and do not have a car. I intended on usinig the back seat to carry groceries. I find the brake is difficult to use and takes both hands to engage. When the back seat is on I hit my legs on it while pushing it, so I don't use it very often. The support in the seat is not great, my son is now 10 months and still is slouching when sitting in this stroller and leans to one side. I feel P&T cuts corners on their manufacturing as some of the fabric pieces were pieced togehter creating an un-necisary seem. All the accessories are extra, bug net, rain cover etc. I do like the rain cover it is easy to use and compact when storing. I have found this stroller is very hot in the summer though and end up not using the bug net/uv guard and instead put sunscreen on my baby. -- tokyo mum
overall i like the stroller. But i found it really inconvenient to use it with a newborn, when the baby lying underneath and toddler sits on top, it's really hard to get the baby in and out with the second sit on top. When the baby can sit and you put 2nd sit on the back then it's really convenient, compact and stylish double stroller. I am a petit women so for me using a bulky side by side stroller just wasn't an option. The other thing to keep in mind- kids can't really sleep in this stroller because they are in up right position all the time , unless you using it as a single. So it's really depends on your needs and how you using it. I am glad i bought it, for my family its been working out perfectly.Brand NEW! Phil & Teds Vibe Buggy With Doubles Kit- Red -- vibe
Pros:
First off, it was super easy to assemble right out of the box. No tools needed, but the tires are flat so you will need an air pump.
I am expecting my second child in a few months so we are not currently using it as a double, but I put my son in the doubles seat and pushed him around the house and he didn't seem to mind the "back seat". He is 14 months, weighs 20 lbs. and it did not tip at all with no child in the big seat.
I also bought the Regal Graco car seat adapter and tried it out with my Graco Safeseat. The car seat fits great without reclining the seat, so I am planning on using the doubles kit with the car seat adapter (even though Phil&Ted's does not recommend this).
Folds really easily (MUCH smaller than my Teutonia).
I bought the Jolly Jumper stroller caddy to use as cup holders. It fits on their great, but cups without a lid would spill when you have to tilt the handle bar to put in the brake position.
I also purchased the Phil&Ted's universal food tray, which attaches the the bumper bar. It is a great place to put my son's snacks. It is easy to attach and folds flat, so I you could store it in the pocket on the back of the seat.
Dash vs. Sport - extra padded seats, plastic footwell, handle bar brake, and storage pocket on the back of main seat
Cons:
SUNSHADE!!!! The sunshade on the main seat is terrible. It barely provides any protection and either has to be snapped on in full sunshade mode (like in the picture) or unsnapped and not used at all...no inbetween. I did buy a kiddopatumus sunshade thing, but feel like it is a pain to attach all the time and blows up in the wind.
We haven't started using the doubles seat, but there is NO sunshade at all.
Steering- my stroller seems to always pull one way or the other. It is actually a work out trying to keep it straight.
I find the handle bar to be a little too thick. I am petite and my hands get sore from gripping it after a long walk (this was never a problem on my Teutonia).
Last- I find that I really do miss the option of being able to turn the seat rear facing. I could do this on my old stroller and thought my son had outgrown liking that, but I miss the option.
Overall:
I love the tandem double idea and Phil & Ted's really is the the size/weight of a single jogger, but you have to sacrifice for a lot of negatives.
Edit: I found that the canopy off of the Especially for Kids Umbrella stroller sold at Babies R Us/TRU for $19.99 clips on to the frame of the stoller and doubles seat. This has solved the issues of lack of sun canopy on the rear seat and poor sun shade on the main seat. See my pics! -- Good double, but several negatives
I have a 3 yr. old and 5 month old and we already have the Joovy Ergo Caboose stroller. I bought that before the baby arrived, knowing I needed some sort of doubles stroller. I thought it would be the perfect fit, but I was sooo wrong. After 5 months of suffering, my husband agreed to pay the near $600 price tag for this stroller. We received it nearly 2 weeks ago and I am in love with it.
Pros:
-It's an inline doubles, so takes up much less room than a traditional doubles and even my Joovy sit/stand
-It is very light
-Maneuvers very easily and even can be pushed one handed
-folds smaller than my Joovy and easily fits into my Japanese mini-minivan
-Doubles kit easily snaps on and off and has a clip to keep it with the main frame
-Strong front "roll bar"
-5 point harnesses are easy to adjut and clip
-it's stylish and plush
-both seats can incline slightly even when the bottom seat is holding a child
-it has the wheel guards so water/mud doesn't splash on the bottom child
-folding handlebar locking mechanism ensures it is not accidently released from a locked position
-easy to fold and set up
Cons:
-Pricey
-the bottom seat does stick out a bit far, but unless you are super tall (i'm 5'7) it's really not a bother considering the pros of this stroller
-I cannot hang my diaper bag on this stroller, so you may just need a backpack type diaper bag or just go light
-I had to purchase all the accessories (protect a bub and drink holders)
Overall, I don't regret at all purchasing this stroller. I know the Vibe folds with its doubles, but honestly save yourself the 200 bucks b/c it is not hard at all to pop this piece on and off:) As far as the safety concerns regarding it folding while people were pushing, as per Phil and Teds if you are purchasing a new stroller they are clear from the safety recall and the problem has been resolved. -- I Love this stroller!
